Every Tuesday at noon, a 15 second siren blasts across the city of San Francisco from 65 different sirens.
Some of them are Victory Sirens from the Cold War. This is an example of the sound. It is accompanied by a warning that says, "This is a test. This is only a test".
People in San Francisco get pretty used to the sound. They just call it 'the noon whistle'.
